Katie grew up in a town located in western Massachusetts. She attended Springfield College in Massachusetts where she graduated with a focus in Rehabilitation and Disability studies with a minor in Health Sciences. Upon completing her degree, she moved to Denver and pursued a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education at the University of Denver. While completing her coursework, Katie began her teaching career at DU’s preschool, Fisher Early Learning Center where she worked with children between the ages 18 months and 4 years old. Katie found herself invested in creating an environment for all children to love learning and where friendships were fostered. This is Katie's second year at Doull (and fifth year teaching within the early childhood field) and is so excited to be part of team Doull! Katie is also currently pursuing a certification in Applied Behavior Analysis and plans to sit for her BCBA exam. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys exploring the outdoors with her husband and dog Mia.
