- 1994-1995: American Council of Learned Societies Teacher-Fellow developing a curriculum project in the arts to articulate McKinley-Thatcher and Rosedale Elementary with Grant Middle and South High Schools.
- 1996: Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis on Reading and Writing Process.
- Published author of "Advocacy in the Public School Classroom" an essay included in Advocacy in the Classroom, St. Martin's Press, Nov. 1996.
