In the core curriculum programs, each student receives instruction in the following curriculum areas:

  • Reading We have an individualized reading program focused on literature, supplemented by a phonics program called "Phonics and Friends," and supported by the Denver Public Schools Literacy Program.
  • Everyday Matha series which promotes critical thinking and problem solving.
  • English Language Development for second language learners
  • Skills Block (Spelling, Writing and Grammar)
  • Writers' Workshop which is individualized instruction in writing process.
  • Physical Education Program
  • Incredible Visual Arts Program
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • Dynamite Doull Music Programincluding vocal music and instrumental music

Computers are utilized in every classsroom to enhance the Denver Public School's curriculum. Voters of Denver approved a Mill Levy increase to assist the Denver Public Schools in their quest to have all schools technologically up to date. Doull's Technology Plan has been rated as exemplary and we continue to update our equipment and improve our computer program.

Our LMC has a computer lab with 29 online Dell computers. Through the school server, it is possible for students to use the lab computers, save their work on the LMC server, return to their classroom and complete any unfinished work by accessing the LMC server in their classroom.
